Strategy: Idea and Movement
Audience: Students and families, teachers
Participants: This activity is for two or more people
Gestures are made with our fingers, hands, and arms and communicate a clear idea. Choose one line of a poem that you love. Read that line over and over and talk about it with a caregiver or a friend. Come up with a gesture that represents the meaning of that line. Be specific and clear when creating your movement.
Share your gesture with someone else. Tell them why you created your gesture starting with the sentence stem, “This gesture shows…”
